The sample size requirements provided below are guidelines, and will alter with the concentration of the analyte of interest.

Sample Type Storage & Shipping Information
Liquid Samples
δ13C- DIC

Dissolved inorganic carbon

Samples should be submitted in 40 mL glass septa vials with no headspace. Provide sample duplicates when available. For best results, limit light and air exposure, and keep refrigerated.
14C- DIC

Dissolved inorganic carbon by AMS

Samples should be submitted in 1 L glass bottles with no headspace. For best results, limit light and air exposure and keep refrigerated
δ 13C- DOC

Dissolved organic carbon

Samples should be submitted in 40 mL glass vials with no headspace. For best results, limit light and air exposure and keep refrigerated
δ34S-SO4 and/or δ18O-SO4

Sulfates in aqueous samples

Provide 250 to 500 mL of sample water in an appropriately sized bottle (*). Please provide sulfate concentration data when available.

* Volume required is dependent on concentration
